Members

We have group members of a wide age range. Several of the members of our group have young children and we try to include them in the activities if at all possible. We have a variety of professions, talents, and interests among the members of our group. And, while our group is located in Smyrna, we have several members who travel from Alabama. Many of the Sylvan Forest members get together for outside activities such as trips to the Renaissance Festival, Stone Mountain, gaming sessions, camping trips, and pagan festivals.

Organization and Circles

Our group is divided into two circles or “courts.” The Outer Court is made up of the Sylvan Forest’s dedicant level members. The Inner Court is made up of the Sylvan Forest’s First, Second, and Third Degree initiates.

New Moons and Full Moons are usually celebrated on the actual date on which they occur. Sabbat dates are calculated based on the astrological occurrence. This can differ slightly from the dates for Sabbats printed in many books. Due to the driving distances that some members have and the need to get young members to bed at a reasonable time, Sabbats are usually celebrated on a Saturday or Sunday when they can start a little earlier.

Circles/rituals are usually held indoors. However, we do attempt to schedule camping trips around some of the Sabbats so that we can have outdoor circles.
